Spartan Table Tennis Club Goes to National Championships

Table tennis is hot in the South Bay, including San Jose State, where the nationally ranked Spartan Table Tennis Club is preparing for national championships April 13-15 in Plano, Texas.

The National Collegiate Table Tennis Association is promising live online streaming of all the action, as the no. 4 ranked Spartans take the floor. SJSU’s co-ed team includes Truong Tu, ranked no. 8 in the nation for men’s singles.

Once again, San Jose State University has excelled in the U.S. News & World Report college rankings. The 2012 edition of “America’s Best Colleges,” available now online, shows SJSU at 10th overall among the West’s top public universities offering bachelor’s and master’s degrees.

International Gateways Program Links Arabic Language Students With Native Speakers

In Silicon Valley, we’re accustomed to hearing world languages all around us. On Fridays this summer at the Pomegranate Cafe near campus, there’s an interesting twist to the conversation. Students from the SJSU Arabic Language and Culture program were joined by students from the International Gateways program to share lunch and language.
